Meet Katie

Hi! I'm Katie.  I'm so happy you are here!

I have been in healthcare for 2 decades, first as a Registered Nurse and now as a Nurse Practitioner.  I've served our incredible elderly population, all who live in long term care, for the past 15 years.  Through this time, I have watched them struggle with the burden of chronic disease.  I was taught on the model of primary prevention and health promotion, yet felt our current model had drifted from this focus.  You have a symptom? Well, here's your pill.  Oh and here's one more pill to treat the side effect of the original pill.  Sound familiar?  This model of "a pill for the ill" was certainly not helping people to get better; only minimizing their symptom while actual root of the problem was still at play.  In my strong desire to learn other ways to support my patients and family, I found functional medicine.  The rest is history!!

It’s all too common a belief that with advanced age comes loss of function, prescription meds, poor sleep and memory loss, to name just a few. It doesn't have to be that way! Much of our experience of health is determined by the lifestyle choices we have made along the way.  THAT can be a hard pill to swallow!!  However, we need to be taught that our choices matter and that we have control of our wellness if we only take back ownership of it.

If you are ready to make sustainable lifestyle changes to improve your health, then you're in the right place! I am passionate about helping individuals reclaim their health and grow old without the burden of disease and medications. And No, it is never too late to start!  My goal is to EDUCATE, EMPOWER and INSPIRE you to make lifestyle changes for the long-term, so that you can age with grace and vitality.

A little more about me...

  • I was born and raised by my incredible mom, Jane, in the beautiful Mount Washington Valley - my happy place!

  • Growing up, I loved spending time with my grandmother, Cecilia. She knew how to have fun (and did right up to 94!).  She is every reason why I have dedicated my career to caring for the older population.  I want to see a world where aging is not an assumed process of decline, debility and illness.

  • I graduated from Saint Anselm College with my BSN in 2002 and UMass Boston with my MSN in 2007.

  • I am an AFMC Certified Practitioner from the School of Applied Functional Medicine (click the emblem in the footer to learn more).

  • I have the best family, friends, and friends who are family, but my shining stars are my husband, Patrick, and my 3 boys, Owen, Tyler & Dylan.

  • A few of my favorite things: watching my kids play sports, skiing, 90s pop & country music, concerts, camping & fire-pits.
